2021 three-star defensive lineman Isaac Washington announced his commitment to the Tennessee Vols on Saturday.
Washington, 6-foot-3/268 lbs from Pilot Mountain, NC (East Surry), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 33 player in the state of North Carolina and the No. 37 defensive tackle in the nation.

The North Carolina native told Rivals on Saturday that Tennessee’s coaching staff sees him as a “great edge rusher that has speed on the outside”.
Washington, who was all smiles during his interview with Rivals, could barely contain his excitement after his commitment, saying “We need this place rocking…there’s just something about this place”.
There’s no doubt that Tennessee has a lot of momentum right now. And it certainly feels like Jeremy Pruitt and his staff are building something special in Knoxville.
Not only did the Vols finish the 2019 season on a six game winning streak, but they’ve received plenty of good news to start 2020.
Cade Mays’ transfer to Tennessee (from Georgia), Velus Jones’ transfer to UT (from USC) and Trey Smith’s return to Rocky Top have all been high notes in January.
If the Vols are able to continue that momentum this spring, there will be plenty of hype surrounding Tennessee in the fall.
