NEW ORLEANS -- The longest season in college football history will come to a conclusion with a champion crowned on Monday night in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship when No. 1 LSU faces No. 3 Clemson in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The matchup of two 14-0 juggernauts pits the nation's top scoring offense in LSU against the top scoring defense in Clemson, and it's headlined by Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Joe Burrow going up against Clemson's Trevor Lawrence, who is undefeated (25-0) as a collegiate starter.

For LSU, this season has included major leaps forward for coach Ed Orgeron's program, including snapping an eight-game losing streak to SEC West rival Alabama and winning the SEC title for the first time since 2011.
