PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football head coach Rod Carey bolstered his recruiting department today by naming Gabe Infante Recruiting Coordinator, additionally adding Zhanee Anderson as Director of Recruiting Content and Averie Oetjen as Director of Recruiting Operations.

"I wanted to publicly acknowledge what we have already internally recognized," said Carey. "Gabe has been recruiting premier athletes within our footprint for over a decade. He knows the type of players we want in this program and he knows where to find them. Zhanee and Averie have experience in college football recruiting and will help us showcase our program as we recruit future Temple Owls."

"It's a gift and I'm very grateful," said Infante of the recognition. "I appreciate that Coach Carey has taken notice of my growth and has found me to be an efficient and affective builder in recruiting. We will continue to build a smart, tough, and relentless team that Owls' fans will be proud of."

Infante will add the title of recruiting coordinator while continuing his role as running backs coach. He enters his third season at Temple after nearly a decade as head coach at Philadelphia's St. Joseph's Prep. While at St. Joseph's, Infante compiled a 91-23 record and won four PIAA state championships in nine seasons with the Hawks. Over the last three seasons, the Hawks were an impressive 40-1 with two state championships under Infante. In 2017, he was named U.S. Army Bowl National Coach of the Year and served as head coach of the U-17 National team. He won the 2018 Don Shula High School Coach of the Year Award after being nominated by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Anderson, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., originally joined the Temple Football program in February 2021 as the creative media graduate assistant focusing primarily on creative video. She came to Temple from the University of Miami, where she worked as a creative design intern for Hurricanes Football. As director of recruiting content, she oversees all in-house recruiting graphics and video. Anderson will also work closely with the athletic department's social media and graphics staffs to assist them with their content needs for the main Temple Football social pages. She was a student-athlete at Valdosta State University, where she earned her degree in mass media and film.

Oetjen, a Lawrenceville, Ga., native, will oversee the strategic plan for prospective student athletes and their families during visits, junior days, and game days. Before joining the Temple football staff, she spent three seasons working for NC State in both football operations and recruiting. She graduated from NC State with a bachelor of science degree in sport management and is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport business from Temple's School of Sport, Tourism, and Hospitality Management.
