Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin has a big job on his hands in terms of recruiting for the Tigers, but he’s shown in the past few months that he’s up for the task. After moving the Tigers’ 2021 recruiting class up to No. 19 in the country, the job isn’t finished yet.
The Auburn football staff will welcome another round of official visitors to the Plains this weekend, among them two 4-star prospects, one of whom is TreVonte Citizen. A native of Lake Charles, LA, Citizen is ranked as the 11th best running back in the recruiting class of 2022 and the 9th best player out of the state of Louisiana.
Citizen’s trip to the Plains marks his third official visit–he spent the past two weekends at Texas and Texas A&M. Following Auburn, Citizen will officially visit LSU, where he’s predicted to commit by the 247 Sports Prediction Crystal Ball.
If the Tigers are to take on this 4-star running back, there are three major programs to beat in Texas, TAMU, and LSU.
Citizen visited the University of Texas on June 4, his first OV, and was extremely happy with how it went. Citizen is one of Steve Sarkisian’s top targets, but the Longhorns and the A&M Aggies seem to be neck and neck in pulling the running back out of Louisiana.

The following weekend, Citizen headed over to College Station to check out the Aggies on June 11. While TAMU is not in desperate need of running backs, they are heavily pursuing Citizen, and he included the Aggies in his top 10 list back in April.
While Texas A&M may be the dark horse when it comes to Citizen’s recruitment, the top team to beat is still the Bayou Bengals. LSU is going after several in-state running back targets, per sister FanSided site Death Valley Voice, and Citizen is one of those considered to be at the top of the list.
All that could change this weekend with Citizen’s official visit to the Plains. He was offered by Bryan Harsin and the new staff in late February, and a preview of the new Auburn football culture could be enough to turn the tables for the LA native.
