Westminster has selected one of its own to lead the rebuild of the school’s football program.

Former Westminster standout quarterback Steven Anderson was introduced Wednesday as the school’s head coach, replacing Willy Puga, who resigned after two difficult seasons.

The Lions went 2-18 the past two seasons under Puga, the former successful Garden Grove coach who replaced 21-year head coach Ted McMillen.

Anderson, a 2013 graduate of Westminster, starred for McMillen, who was respected as an offensive coach. Anderson has been assisting at Westminster and also teaches math at the school. He attended UCLA after graduating from Westminster.
