USC | Matt Leinart — The 2004 Heisman Trophy winner has everything it takes to be the President of a college football program. Most of all, he has the on-field resume for the job with 10,693 career passing yards, 99 career touchdown passes, and of course the Heisman. While Leinart’s NFL career didn’t go as planned, he’s shown that he can handle himself in front of a camera in his role as an analyst for FOX Sports. In a turbulent time for the USC program, Leinart could provide some leadership and help unify the fan base.
Oregon | Marcus Mariota — By looking at and listening to Marcus Mariota you wouldn’t be able to tell how many accolades have been heaped onto the former Oregon quarterback. The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner carries himself with a quiet confidence, which is a great quality for a President to have. Mariota’s leadership would be great for a Ducks team looking to get back into the national title picture. On top of that, he would be able to assist in the transition away from starting quarterback Justin Herbert, who is off to the NFL after a few great years at Oregon.
Clemson | Deshaun Watson — Watson would have to do double duty as he tries to lead the NFL’s Houston Texans to a Super Bowl, but if anyone could do it, it would be him. Between his college career and his fledgling NFL career, Watson has shown all the qualities of being a good leader on and off the field. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney compared Watson to Michael Jordan. How could the Tigers not want a person like that running the football program?
Penn State | Sean Lee — Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley both have cases here, but Sean Lee’s longevity puts him over the top here. After amassing 166 total tackles as a Nittany Lion, Lee has represented the university well in his nine years as a Dallas Cowboys. There, he has become a model citizen for the NFL’s most recognizable franchise. Once he is done with his lengthy NFL career, Lee could make his way back up north to be the face of Penn State football.
