When I was tasked with naming the top assistant coaches in college football, I could have steered things in a number of different directions. Rising stars? Head coaches in waiting? Best developers? Best schemers? Eh.
Instead I just kept it broad and stuck with simply the best. This list reflects the guys that have emerged to the top of the profession. There’s a lot of coaches that merit inclusion on this list or that just missed, but we had to draw the line somewhere.
As we enter the 2020 offseason, these are the guys who have clearly earned the right to be included in any list of college football's best assistant coaches.
