Part of the reason optimism seems to be swirling around the Oregon football program is the lack of turnover from this year to the next. The Ducks will lose just two defensive starters, but will need to replace a fair amount on offense with several key players gone. All in all, the Ducks have lost eight full-time starters, meaning the bring back 14 of 22 overall.

The losses will be significant, as the Ducks lose one of the better quarterbacks in program history in Justin Herbert, four multiple-year starting offensive linemen (Shane Lemieux, Jake Hanson, Dallas Warmack and Calvin Throckmorton), the team's third-leading receiver (Juwan Johnson) and one the program's all-time leaders in tackles in Troy Dye.
