Springfield Football Standout Cioffi Signs Contract With Jets - TAPinto.net

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — On Thursday, Anthony Cioffi, a former member of the Jonathan Dayton Football team signed a contract with the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL).

Cioffi, who played his college football at Rutgers, was a standout athlete for all four years at Dayton. He had previously been with the Oakland Raiders in training camp during 2017, but was cut before the end of camp.

According to the Jets article on Cioffi, he had six tackles and a forced fumble in four preseason games with the Raiders.

Following his stint in Oakland, Cioffi signed with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL), where he racked up 97 defensive tackles, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery touchdown and four sacks.

During his rookie year with the Redblacks, Cioffi also played in the Gray Cup Final, as the Redblacks lost to the Calgary Stampeders.
