The return of college football is right around the corner — at least for those of you, like us, who get excited for spring practice. Defending national champion LSU opens workouts on March 7 with a new look across the board, from coordinator Bo Pelini taking over a talented defense to Myles Brennan entering spring ball as QB1 for the first time in his career.
The Tigers were able to overcome a daunting schedule last fall to record a handful of wins over Top 10 teams en route to a title, a perfect season previously unmatched in program history. Can Ed Orgeron's team do it again?
Teams live on the edge week to week in the SEC West, college football's toughest division which has produced a national title game participant five consecutive years and nine times over the past decade. And there's at least four programs this fall from that side of the SEC who will likely be ranked in the preseason with a legitimate shot at being in the Playoff picture down the stretch.
ESPN college football staffer Alex Scarborough recently ranked games he's looking forward to this season and we've compared his list to our own from last month. No surprise, many of the nation's most appetizing matchups overlap and LSU is one of a couple SEC teams mentioned among the most anticipated contests:
