Two Ohio State football players charged with rape, kidnapping - MLive.com

Ohio State football players Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint have been charged with rape and kidnapping, following an alleged incident at their Columbus apartment last week.

They were booked into jail early Wednesday and charged with first-degree felonies in Franklin County (Ohio) Municipal Court. They are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Riep and Wint, both senior defensive backs who have appeared in 35-plus career games with the Buckeyes, have been suspended from the football team.

Ohio State spokesman Ben Johnson, in a statement: “We are aware that two of our students have been arrested and criminally charged. They have been suspended from all activities involving the football program. We will share more information when available.”

According to police reports, a woman said she and Riep were engaging in consensual sex when she asked to stop. Wint entered the room, and asked to join in. Wint then allegedly held the woman down and raped her, while Riep held her down.

Riep tried to get the woman to say on video that everything was consensual, and also wanted her to shower before she went home, according to the affidavit.

Riep had two interceptions in the 2019 season and was expected to contend for a starting role next year.
