With National Signing Day complete, Big 12 Conference football teams now turn their attention toward the beginning of spring practice. TCU starts spring workouts the earliest this year as the Horned Frogs take the field on February 28. Iowa State and Texas finish their springs the latest with both schools holding their spring games on April 25.
It’s a great time to take a look at Big 12 teams as spring football is about to get under way.
The Big 12 returns six bowl teams and five that finished the 2019 with at least eight victories while No. 7 Oklahoma (12-2) and No. 13 Baylor (11-3) each went 8-1 during the league season.
Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Texas and Baylor all are ranked in ESPN’s “Way-Too-Early College Football Top 25” for the 2020 season.
While TCU head coach Gary Patterson remains the second-most veteran head coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the league welcomes in first-year head coach Dave Aranda at Baylor. Chris Klieman, Les Miles, Neal Brown and Matt Wells prepare for their second seasons in the Big 12.
