FSU football has a lot of variables that could impact how the season goes in 2021, which could make or break things for Mike Norvell as he heads into his second season.
Positive signs coming out of fall camp and on the recruiting trail, which has FSU football fans feeling optimistic after finishing 3-6 last season.
Here are 10 things FSU football fans can look for that will define the 2021 season for the Noles (in no particular order).
10. Injury Luck
The Noles had awful injury luck over the past few years, dating back to 2016 when Derwin James was lost for the season against Charleston Southern.
The following season saw Deondre Francois injured in the season opener. The program had some underlying issues, but that injury seemed to hit the NOS button on helping FSU football get to where it has gone.
We’ve seen injuries to players on the offensive line, wide receivers, and the secondary over the past couple of years.
I mentioned it on the Built For Playmakers Podcast this week. I believe the starters are solid and Mike Norvell can win 6-7 games with them if there are no major injuries.
However, the reserves concern me since there’s a considerable drop-off in their level of play. If the Noles have good injury luck, it’ll mean FSU will show improvement on the field in 2021.
