The Texas A&M Football team is in an objectively better place right now than they were a decade ago. With Jimbo Fisher as head coach, it seems like the sky is the limit for this program. Literally speaking, Fisher has as much success as physically possible in college football, winning a national championship with the Florida State Seminoles.
The general belief around College Station is that he’s halfway toward bringing that same level of success to Texas A&M. After a season that saw them fall just short, the Aggies will be shooting for the promised land in 2021.
Half of the battle in getting there is bringing the best possible talent to Aggieland and thus far, Fisher has excelled at doing so. Texas A&M has had a top ten recruiting class in each season as head coach. The 2021 class is no exception and it doesn’t look like the 2022 class will change that either.
A top 2022 Texas A&M Football prospect’s mom was extremely high on Jimbo Fisher in an interview
In an interview with 247Sports (PAID), the mother of a 5-star prospect and the top overall cornerback in the 2022 class Denver Harris was asked about the Texas A&M Football program. Harris’s mom was extremely high on the Aggies, primarily focusing on Jimbo Fisher as her reasoning.
“The first time I talked with Coach Jimbo Fisher early on in Denver’s recruitment he said just keep watching and I’ve been very impressed,”
She continued by talking about the culture that Fisher has built in College Station in such a short period of time.
“They’ve made a huge turnaround from who they were to who they are no. He let me know I’m doing what I can with the players I didn’t recruit and now I have my own players in and we’re here. I really do like Coach Fisher. He’s done a really good job revamping the program.”
It seems like when it comes to recruiting, Fisher has put forth a huge emphasis on the fact that when he has his own players, A&M will be an entirely different monster. In 2021, the Aggies will consist almost entirely of Fisher-recruited players.
5-star Denver Harris is a player that every program wants. This may explain why the teams competing for him consist of four elite programs in Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, and LSU. It’ll be an intense battle to see who can come out with this elite prospect.
At 6-1, 180 pounds, there are few receivers that Harris won’t be able to match up with physically. He has the size to cover larger guys and the speed to keep up with the country’s fastest wideouts.
Harris is already projected to be an early-round NFL Draft pick, even coming off of a season-ending ACL injury at the high school level.
