FSU football will begin fall camp later this week in preparation for the 2021 season, which begins Sunday, September 5, as the Noles host Notre Dame.

Mike Norvell and his coaching staff benefited from a full spring and summer camp. There were player-led practices this summer, and new additions like Andrew Parchment and Dillan Gibbons have had a chance to get acclimated to how FSU does things.

The FSU football program has a lot riding on the 2021 season. The coaching staff has done an amazing job on the recruiting trails, with a top 10 class currently.

They’ll need to show improvement on the field to give credibility to the recruiting pitch from the staff.

I documented the six most winnable games on the schedule a few weeks ago. Three of those games are near locks and the other three feature games that are coin-flips on paper.

I’m not concerned with what those teams bring to the table. I’ve highlighted the things FSU can control that they need to improve.

They need better results in the red zone, fewer turnovers, and improved special team play. I think the ability to have a full offseason should improve the likelihood of these things happening. I’m curious to see the narratives that come out of fall camp. Until we get there, let’s take a look at the five most important games on the schedule with commentary.
