The weather God was merciful Saturday and FSU football completed its spring game with a decent crowd and over 100 recruits in attendance.
I was impressed with what I saw for the most part. The spring practices have been fruitful with both sides of the ball looking much more crisp and explosive compared to the product we saw last year.
Many of the early enrollees showed they could be factors for the Noles in 2021. The players the coaches got from the transfer portal looked like they were will make an impact as well.
Let’s get into my 10 observations from the spring game.
FSU Has Two Capable Quarterbacks
Jordan Travis and McKenzie Milton look like they could both start at FSU and be upgrades over what the Noles have trotted out on the field the last five years.
Jordan Travis looked poised in the pocket and showed some success completing plays in the intermediate game. He also threw some nice deep balls and continues to dazzle defenders with his legs. I think he understands the offense much better and is playing with a lot of confidence.
McKenzie Milton looks completely healthy and made a lot of great throws in the scrimmage. The biggest question with him is can he continue to learn the playbook after arriving in January.

It doesn’t matter who wins the quarterback job. I think both players will see time on the field in the fall.
