SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Alongside Augustana Football's annual Spring Game on Saturday, May 8, multiple events and recognitions are in the works to celebrate Augie Fan Fest.
The annual spring game gets underway at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Private tailgates are allowed in the First PREMIER tailgate (west parking) lot.
COVID-19 protocols surrounding fan safety will be in effect. That includes face coverings required for all Augustana events, except when not actively eating or drinking. Fans will also be encouraged to maintain adequate physical distancing between groups.
As a part of the day's events, several recognitions will take place, including an announcement of the final fundraised amount for "Turf Wars" towards the replacement of the turf at Kirkeby-Over Stadium. We will also celebrate student-athletes who continue to excel in the classroom, debut the Augustana drumline and have a special check presentation from Augustana's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to South Dakota Make-A-Wish.
In addition, Augustana's Black Student Union and Augustana Athletics are proud to partner to benefit Feeding South Dakota at this event. Fans are encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to support ending hunger in South Dakota.
