With Jesse Frederick singing “Everywhere You Look” in the background, plus views of the Bay Area flashing across the screen, Cal football delivered a “Full House” type theme in unveiling the 2020 schedule via social media on Jan. 16.
And each Bay Area landmark – from the Bay Bridge, to underneath the Golden Gate Bridge all the way to Memorial Stadium – revealed the dates and opponents for the Golden Bears.
The unique spin that featured the popular late 1980s ABC sitcom angle helped end any early anticipation among Golden Bear fans on who Cal will play against, plus showed where the Golden Bears will go each week. Times for each game are still to be determined.
Cal's 2020 schedule features a non-conference lineup that opens at UNLV in brand-new Allegiant Stadium, followed by home games versus TCU and Cal Poly. The Pac-12 schedule opens at home versus Utah, features three road games in the first four weeks of October, and finishes with back-to-back home games versus Stanford and UCLA to close the regular season.
Now comes this: What can we expect early on out of those matchups?
In three paragraphs or less, time to give an early breakdown of the 2020 slate on Bear Territory:
