Why NBC political analyst Steve Kornacki is on the Sunday Night Football pre-game show - DraftKings Nation

The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs wrap up Week 13 Sunday with a rivalry matchup on Sunday Night Football. However, if you watch the pre-game show, you might see a familiar face offering some insight into the 2020 NFL playoff picture.

NBC political correspondent Steve Kornacki will join the Football Night in America team at 7 p.m. ET. The show leads into the 8:20 p.m. kickoff of SNF, and then Koranacki will make a second appearance during the halftime segment.

Kornacki gained acclaim on election night and the following days as he offered a breakdown of state-by-state results. He went nearly two full days without sleep as the marathon continued and people loved it. Two weeks later, People named him one of its annual “Sexiest Men Alive.” When that happens, the network is going to do whatever it can to take advantage of the publicity.

The NFL has entered the final stretch of the 2020 regular season with December upon us and playoff berths to be had. The Chiefs and Steelers can both clinch a playoff berth this weekend with a win. What will be a lot more interesting is seeing Kornacki attempt to offer insight into the NFC East race. We have a chance at a six-team division winner for the first time in NFL history, and one has to imagine that will get some laughs from Kornacki and company.
