ANN ARBOR
Saline won its 33rd consecutive Southeastern Conference-Red game, defeating Ann Arbor Huron 43-19. Saline’s dual-threat quarterback Larry Robinson played a big role in this one. MLive’s Greg Wickliffe tells you all about it here.
Chelsea’s defense gave up 12 points in last week’s season-opening victory over Dexter. The Bulldogs were even stingier in Friday’s 37-7 win over Ypsilanti Lincoln. Chelsea hasn’t given up more than 30 points in a game in four seasons. Greg Wickliffe breaks it down here.
BAY CITY
Bay City Central’s Kyle Sporman was sidelined during Friday’s 31-8 loss to Mount Pleasant, but his little brother Ben Sporman gave the home crowd a reason to cheer. “I knew this was a big year for him, and now it might be taken away," Ben said. "He influenced me and motivated me. I wanted to do it for him tonight.” Lee Thompson explains it all here.

DETROIT
Belleville senior quarterback Christian Dhue-Reid is closing in on the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s state record for career touchdowns, and if he has a few more nights like he did Friday, he should break it sooner rather than later. Dhue-Reid threw seven touchdown passes in Belleville’s 69-0 win over Dearborn Fordson. Read more from Jared Purcell.
FLINT
Are Fenton and Ortonville Brandon on a collision course for the Metro League championship? Brendan Savage wrote that it’s looking like it. Both teams won big Friday. Read Savage’s report here.
GRAND RAPIDS
Forest Hills Central’s offense is attacking defenses with a pair of quarterbacks this fall, and it proved successful once again in Friday’s 28-13 win over rival Forest Hills Northern. Steve Kaminski explains here.
JACKSON
Jackson’s Dorion Riley isn’t the biggest player on the field, but he has continued to produce big results. Riley, who’s 5-7, is closing in on the school’s career rushing record. He had 134 more yards in Friday’s 42-14 loss to Monroe. Josh VanDyke shares Riley’s story and explains how close Riley is to the record here.
KALAMAZOO
Portage Northern features a standout running back in Anthony Tyus III. But senior quarterback T.J. Coon can create plenty of buzz himself. Coon was 9-for-9 for 219 yards and a touchdown in the Huskies' 36-6 win over Mattawan. Patrick Nothaft has more here.
MUSKEGON
Mona Shores handed Muskegon its first regular-season loss in four years and spoiled the Big Reds' first game at the newly renovated Hackley Stadium, 21-14. Please click here to read Scott DeCamp’s report on how the defending Division 2 state champions got the job done.
Montague and Oakridge have played a couple of thrillers the past two seasons, with Montague winning 25-24 in 2018 and Oakridge 15-13 last year. Friday’s rematch couldn’t have been more different. Montague rolled to a 42-6 victory. Scott DeCamp has the details here.
SAGINAW
Saginiaw Nouvel’s Ashton Wright played angry Friday, and that’s a good thing for the football team. Wright rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns, and he had four catches for 79 yards in Nouvel’s 34-15 win versus Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Hugh Bernreuter explains why Wright was so angry here.
