FSU football: Can Noles maintain No. 1 recruiting class in ACC? - Chop Chat

fsu football

It’s true Clemson has dominated the ACC since FSU football fell off like Big Mac toppings near the end of the Jimbo Fisher era.

The Noles have floundered in mediocrity under different head coaches, but it looks as though Mike Norvell has the ship sailing in the right direction.

The NCAA Dead Period will end June 1st, and FSU football finds itself atop the ACC recruiting rankings for the first time since early 2018 under Willie Taggart.

Some of that No. 1 ranking has to do with FSU securing commitments from nine players, compared to other schools that only have four or five commitments.

I’m sure Clemson fans will wager they’ll have the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation by the time National Signing Day rolls around.

They might, but there’s a shot for the Noles to maintain their No. 1 ranking in the conference provided they show improvement on the field in 2021. At the very least they could keep the No. 2 spot.

As bad as things have been in Tallahassee the past few years, the Noles have never finished lower than fourth in the conference rankings.

2019-2nd
2020-4th
2021-4th
Besides Clemson, Miami and North Carolina are the only two programs that have finished above the Noles in the conference recruiting rankings.
