HOW IT HAPPENED

- After Valparaiso kicked off to open the game, the Eagles marched 63 yards in just five plays in 2:36 to score first. Pappas scrambled through the defense for a 10-yard TD. He completed a 22-yard pass to wideout DeVonte Adams as a catalyst to the drive.

- Valparaiso scored it's first touchdown at the 8:00 mark of the second period when Gabe Lawson punched it in from a yard away.
- The visitors cut the lead to 21-14 at the half with just 18 ticks left before the break on Robert Washington's one-yard plunge.
- Senior receiver BJ Byrd hauled in his PFL-best sixth touchdown of the season with 8:27 left to play. Byrd caught a pass from Pappas and tiptoed just inside the back corner of the end zone for the score to make 28-21.
- Valpo kicker Brian Bartholomew nailed a 21-yard field goal with 4:39 left.
- The Eagles tried to ice the clock but ended up giving the ball back to Valpo. But, on a second down play from the 26-yard line, Barbee picked off his second pass of the day at the 39-yard line on a diving grab to seal the win.
