Louisville Xtreme arena league football is coming to Freedom Hall - Courier Journal

Football is coming to Freedom Hall.

A new team, the Louisville Xtreme, has joined the American Arena League, according to a press release from the organization and the Louisville Sports Holding Group. The Xtreme will play at Freedom Hall, with its home opener Saturday against the Tampa Tornados.

The Xtreme will play home games at Freedom Hall, 937 Phillips Lane. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster and start at $15, according to the release.

"We are excited to bring Arena Football back to Louisville," Louisville Xtreme general manager Victor Cole said in the statement. "Louisville has always embraced arena football and we are excited to bring that fast paced, high scoring, family friendly, sport back to the city that I love"

Louisville has been home to arena football teams in the past. The Louisville Fire had its moment in the sun in the early 2000s, and the Kentucky Xtreme was previously a member of the Continental Indoor Football League in 2013-14. 

Saturday's game will feature $1 beer, according to the release, and other home games will have a party zone, a kids' zone and autographs on the field after games.

The Xtreme will play four home games at Freedom Hall, Saturday vs. the Tampa Tornadoes, April 5 vs. the Carolina Predators, May 16 vs. the Pennsylvania Enforcers and July 2 vs. the Nashville Fire.
