SATURDAY STARS
Montague quarterback Drew Collins completed 12-of-12 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns and a perfect quarterback rating in a 41-16 win over Montrose. He also ran for a score.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central quarterback Joey Silveri was 11-of-12 for 158 yards in the Cougars’ 58-7 win over Muskegon Oakridge, and he threw five touchdown passes.
Mona Shores’ Brady Rose had 15 carries for 204 yards with two touchdowns (82, 48 yards), plus 4 tackles in the Sailors 24-21 win against East Lansing.
New Lothrop’s Will Muron rushed for 105 yards on 10 carries and had 130 receiving yards on seven catches in a 41-7 win over Loyola. He ran for a 46-yard touchdown and caught a 79-yard touchdown pass from Cam Orr.
Taking a snap on the varsity for the first time in place of All-State quarterback Brendan Sullivan, who left high school early to enroll at Northwestern, Davison quarterback Dion Brown completed 11-of-20 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions as Davison outgained Catholic Central 327-111 in a 20-7 victory over Detroit Catholic Central. Brown had played wide receiver all season.
East Lansing junior quarterback Brevin Jackson finished 13-of-23 passing for 223 yards with one touchdown and one interception, plus he rushed for a touchdown in a loss to Mona Shores. He got the start in place of injured Ambrose Wilson.
