Predictions: TCU Football at Kansas State - Frogs O' War

Christian Tjoa I am way more invested in TCU Basketball starting next week and realize I need to seek help the interest of the fanbase. Apathy is the enemy of greatness. Kansas State plays better because our run defense will turn Deuce Vaughn into prime Barry Sanders. 200+ yards and everything is awful (from scrimmage) Yes, experienced QB who has taken a lot of unfair criticism over the years. He’ll have a solid game on Saturday. Since I’m not allowed to say “every player on defense”, I’ll say Max. The margin for error is so small that, even though he’s not the biggest problem on this team, we need him to be elite to have a chance. 2 picks isn’t gonna cut it. K State wins 38-28. Offense bounces back but K State plays ball control with Thompson and Vaughn shredding us. It’ll be a slow, painful game as the K State matchup often is. Deanna Rust When you say TCU Football, I automatically assume you mean TCU Futbol the interest of the fanbase. Apathy is the enemy of greatness. I feel like this is a setup. But if I have to answer, I think TCU will pull this off. KSU has averaged 27 points per game this season (conference and non), and TCU has averaged about 34, so I think TCU’s offensive potential is a little stronger than KSU. But the difference maker is going to be the defense as a whole, specially our secondary. If they don’t come through, KSU could rack up points and have a breakout offensive game against us. Won't matter because Zach Evans is about to ball control the hell out of this game. His experience worries me. While he isn’t a standout, amazing quarterback, he’s good. He has talent and experience playing TCU. Again, if the secondary doesn’t figure out how to stay ahead of the receivers and break up passes (an interception feels like a bit of a pipe dream right now), then Thompson and his receivers could make it look really easy. And Vaughn will be off to the races. Our receivers need to be able to hold onto the ball. But Quentin Johnston had some great opportunities this past weekend that got squandered. We need him to lead this receivers group and step up. He has the talent and is getting opportunities. He just needs to put it all together for some big receptions to help the Frogs get yards and give the defense some rest. I’m going to go 31-30 TCU. I think it’ll be a close game, but I think the Frogs can pull this off, even with a moderately good day on both sides of the ball. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but we need to put more pieces together than we did last week. Russ Hodges I'm still invested and believe TCU will make a bowl game against West Virginia. Can't lose to subpar teams at home. TCU has to be in desperation mode right now. Losing and dropping to 3-5 with OSU, Baylor and Iowa State remaining would be extremely tough for a bowl. Greater than 100 yards but less than 150 (from scrimmage) Thompson has shown he can perform well against weak defenses (Oklahoma) so I don't see him struggling on Saturday. Max Duggan. His two turnovers against West Virginia resulted in 10 points for the Mountaineers. TCU 27, Kansas State 24 Colin Post I'm still invested and believe TCU will make a bowl game against West Virginia. Can't lose to subpar teams at home. TCU. Quentin Johnston bounce back game. Won't matter because Zach Evans is about to ball control the hell out of this game. Great system guy. Generally makes the right decisions and takes care of the ball. A threat in the run game if not checked. I’d expect him so have a good (200 plus yards) not great game Saturday. Watch out for Noah Daniels’ first interception of the year. Quentin and Ochaun. Need reliability in the pass catching and HAVE to get to the QB. 31-17 TCU. Max balls out, Zach gets back on track, and the defense does enough to keep a weak KSU offense at bay. Ryan Bunnell When you say TCU Football, I automatically assume you mean TCU Futbol the interest of the fanbase. Apathy is the enemy of greatness. Our team is playing defeated. Kansas State will play the better game, Deuce Vaughn is going to have a field day. 200+ yards and everything is awful (from scrimmage) Not sure if I would say dominate, but he is fully capable of ripping random big plays which is what's killed us all year. Max Duggan 38-34 K-State wins. I don't even want to think about how we'll get there. Anthony North I am way more invested in TCU Basketball starting next week and realize I need to seek help the interest of the fanbase. Apathy is the enemy of greatness. K-State. The degree to which Deuce Vaughn is better than the TCU defense is much greater than anyone from the TCU offense is better than the KSU defense. 200+ yards and everything is awful (from scrimmage) He’s playing against the 2021 TCU defense right? Ok, well yeah, he’ll dominate. Gary Patterson 38-24 KSU. “What’s the difference between us? We can start at the Defense - where we scream ‘I just don’t give a ****’ and see who really means it.” Garrett Podell I'm still invested and believe TCU will make a bowl game against West Virginia. Can't lose to subpar teams at home. TCU because Quentin Johnston will clean up his ball security to take over this game. Greater than 100 yards but less than 150 (from scrimmage) He'll probably play well, but I expect him to give TCU more trouble on scrambles when things break down for big gains with his legs. The TCU defensive line. Too many times against West Virginia and others have they been bullied off the line. It's for them to stand up for themselves. TCU 16- Kansas State 13. A slug fest with lots of miscues, but a Quentin Johnston catch-and-run touchdown is the difference as each team scores a single TD with a few field goals mixed in. Melissa Triebwasser When you say TCU Football, I automatically assume you mean TCU Futbol the interest of the fanbase. Apathy is the enemy of greatness. Kansas State has positive momentum after a come from behind win, TCU needs to pick themselves up off the mat. While the Frogs are always capable of getting things rolling -- this is still a talented squad -- I think we are still in the valley of Frog Football. Cats play a complete game with Deuce Vaughn making a difference as a receiver. 200+ yards and everything is awful (from scrimmage) Skylar Thompson has become a much improved passer this season, due -- at least partially -- to his running being hampered by a lower body injury. He is progressing through his reads, making good decisions, and avoiding mistakes. While the Cats aren't known as a big play passing offense, they've certainly had success against TCU secondaries in the past, and I think Thompson plays a very efficient game Saturday. Quentin Johnston. If he plays like he did at Oklahoma and not like he did against WVU, the Frogs can outscore K State. 34-27 Kansas State. I just don't think this defense can stop Deuce Vaughn when it matters.
