BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The week nine schedule features three important League games on Saturday. The day kicks off with Lehigh hosting Holy Cross at Goodman Stadium. Live coverage begins on ESPN+ at noon, with audio of the Mountain Hawks - Crusaders game available on Fox Sports Radio Lehigh Valley 1320/1230AM.  Lafayette returns to action after its bye at Georgetown in a 12:30 p.m. matchup on ESPN+. Colgate welcomes Bucknell to Hamilton, N.Y. with a 1 p.m. kickoff on ESPN+. Home Patriot League games can be viewed internationally at https://patriotleague.org/watch.

FORDHAM’S JAMES CONWAY SELECTED TO JERRY RICE AWARD WATCH LIST
Fordham freshman linebacker James Conway was selected to the Stats Perform Jerry Rice Award Watch List. Now in its 11th season, the Rice Award is presented to the national freshman of the year in the FCS. Conway, the reigning GEICO Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and a three-time League rookie of the week, is among the League and FCS leaders in tackles per game (12.13) and forced fumbles per game (0.50).
 
COLGATE’S GRUBER TIES LEAGUE SINGLE-SEASON AND CAREER KICKOFF RETURN RECORD
Colgate senior defensive back/return specialist Will Gruber has returned kickoffs for touchdowns in each of the Raiders’ last two games, tying the Patriot League single-season and career kickoff return for touchdown record with two. The back-to-back Patriot League GEICO Special Teams Player of the Week first struck with a 100-yard return for a score at Cornell on Oct. 15. Against Holy Cross on Oct. 23, he scored on a 99-yard return. Gruber joins 10 Patriot League football student-athletes in a tie for the career record. He has returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in a single season, joining Bucknell’s Dante Ross (2004) and Lafayette’s Matt Smalley.
 
RAMS’ KOKOSIOULIS AMONG FCS TD RECEPTIONS LEADERS
Fordham Sr. WR Fotis Kokosioulis caught three touchdown passes in the Rams’ 66-21 victory over Bucknell and has reached the end zone five times in the last three games. He is tied for second in the FCS with nine touchdown catches, scoring in six of Fordham’s eight games this season. Junior teammate Dequece Carter is tied for fifth in the FCS with eight touchdown receptions. Former Lehigh standout and current Bucknell Head Coach Dave Cecchini holds the Patriot League’s single-season touchdown record with 15.

FOUR PATRIOT LEAGUERS AMONG FCS TACKLES LEADERS
Four Patriot League defensive players rank among the FCS top-10 leaders in tackles, led by Fordham freshman linebacker James Conway, who posted a career-high 22 tackles vs. Lehigh (Oct. 23).  Holy Cross junior linebacker Jacob Dobbs has recorded double-digit tackles in five games and is fourth in the nation. Lafayette junior linebacker Marco Olivas and Georgetown senior linebacker Justin Fonteneaux are tied with 11.0 tackles per game.

DEMORAT AMONG FCSs BEST AT FINDING THE END ZONE
Fordham senior quarterback Tim DeMorat threw for 401 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Rams over Lehigh on Oct. 23, one week after tying a Rams’ single-game record with six touchdown passes against Bucknell. He moved to 11th in League history in passing yards (7,724) and climbed to 10th in the FCS this season in passing yards per game (296.0). He has also had a knack for leading his receivers into the end zone, ranking fourth in the nation in touchdown passes, with 24 through eight games. DeMorat is responsible for 20.2 points per game, the fifth-best in the FCS.

Series History: Holy Cross and Lehigh meet for the 37th time in series history. The Mountain Hawks hold a 19-16-1 advantage in a series that began with a 3-3 tie in 1924. Lehigh is 7-5 against the Crusaders since 2010, with Holy Cross winning the last three meetings.
Last Meeting: (Nov. 2, 2019) - Holy Cross S Chris Riley intercepted a Lehigh pass with less than a minute left in the game to seal the Crusaders’ 24-17 victory over Lehigh at Goodman Stadium. Crusaders’ QB Connor Degenhardt rushed for a score in the first quarter and threw a touchdown pass to WR Tenio Ayeni in the third quarter. RB Domenic Cozier led the offense with 190 yards on 22 carries, including a long run of 88 yards, which set up Degenhardt’s one-yard plunge in the first quarter. Lehigh QB Tyler Monaco completed 26-of-39 passes for 282 yards and a touchdown, while WR Devon Bibbens caught six passes for 102 yards, including a 33-yard touchdown reception. LB Pete Haffner finished with seven tackles and two interceptions.
*NOTE: Current Lehigh Head Coach Tom Gilmore served in the same role at Holy Cross from 2004 until 2017, earning a League title in 2009.

Series History: Lafayette and Georgetown will meet for the 24th time in series history, with the Leopards holding a 14-9 advantage. The two programs met for the first time in 1902 in Lafayette’s 23-0 win.
Last Meeting: (Oct. 19, 2019) - Georgetown QB Gunther Johnson threw a pair of first-half touchdown passes, and the Hoyas’ defense held Lafayette scoreless in the second half to claim a 14-10 victory at Cooper Field. Johnson completed 21-of-36 passes for 160 yards, and touchdown passes to senior WR Michael Dereus and RB Josh Stakely. S Ahmad Wilson had five tackles and one interception, while LB George Ikott had six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss (TFLs). Lafayette RB Jaden Sutton carried four times for 100 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown run with 43 seconds remaining first quarter, which tied the score at seven apiece. LB Major Jordan had a game-high 12 tackles, 1.0 TFL and an interception. LB Billy Schaeffer had 11 tackles and 1.0 TFL.

Series History: Colgate and Bucknell meet for the 69th time in series history, with the Raiders holding a 50-18 advantage in a series that began in 1894. The Raiders had won six straight games in the series until the Bison recorded a 32-14 win in 2019.
Last Meeting: (Oct. 12, 2019) - Bucknell QB Logan Bitikofer threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bison to a 32-14 victory at Colgate. Bitikofer completed 18-of-29 passes, including touchdown passes to RB Alex Barnard and WR Brandon Sanders. DL Simeon Page finished with six tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss of 22 yards, 2.0 sacks, and two pass breakups. LB Rick Mottram had a team-leading nine tackles with 1.5 TFLs and 1.0 sack. Colgate QB Grant Breneman completed 17-of-28 passes for 202 yards, and WR Garrett Oakey caught nine passes for 123 yards, both career highs at the time. DL Nick Wheeler finished with 2.0 sacks to become the Raiders’ career sacks leader.

*The Walter Payton Award Watch List nominee accounted for all five of Fordham’s touchdowns, including three straight in the fourth quarter to overcome a 14-point deficit.
*DeMorat leads the Patriot League and is fourth in the FCS in touchdown passes (24) and points responsible for (162). He is also 10th in the FCS in passing yards per game (296.0).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE GEICO FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

*Conway registered a career-high 22 tackles and 1.5 TFLs in Fordham’s 35-28 comeback victory over Lehigh.
*He also forced two fumbles in the fourth quarter, including one recovered by the Rams, to help set up the game-tying touchdown.
*Conway leads the Patriot League and is second in the FCS with 12.1 tackles per game.

*Gruber returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown
*It was his second kickoff return for a score in as many weeks, tying the Patriot League single-season and career record.
*Gruber is the third student-athlete in League history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in a single season, joining Bucknell’s Dante Ross (2004) and Lafayette’s Matt Smalley (2013).
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE GEICO FOOTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ethan Grady, Bucknell, Fr., QB, Manhattan Beach, Calif./St. Monica Catholic
*Grady completed 12-of-20 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns in his first collegiate start and second game.
*The freshman quarterback threw touchdown passes of 31, 24 and 34 yards to senior wide receiver Dominic Lyles.
*His 24-yard touchdown pass came on a 4th-down and six play.
