Pitt Adds Austin Peay to 2020 Football Schedule

PITTSBURGH—Pitt will open the 2020 football season against Austin Peay State University on Sept. 12 at Heinz Field, Director of Athletics Heather Lyke announced.
Austin Peay replaces Mid-American Conference member Miami (Ohio) on the Panthers' schedule. The MAC announced earlier this month it would postpone all fall competition.
Pitt's 11-game schedule is now complete. The Panthers will play 10 Atlantic Coast Conference games and one non-conference opponent as part of the ACC's 10-plus-one scheduling model.
This will be the first meeting between Pitt and Austin Peay. The Governors, who play at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level, went 11-4 and advanced to the NCAA Division I Football Championship quarterfinals in 2019.

Game times and television arrangements will be announced at a later date.
The University of Pittsburgh is working in concert with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Heinz Field on communications with the Governor's office regarding the possible accommodation of fans for home games this season. More information is anticipated in the near future.
