The 2020 college football season has been one of the wildest in recent memory. With a lack of spring practice, no summer team workouts, and fall camps which often didn't feature much hitting, early season results were quite up and down.
But things have started to normalize a bit in the sport. The top teams are, for the most part, the ones we all expected to be at the top. Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State have not gone anywhere. And the bottom teams like Kansas, Vanderbilt, UTEP, Louisiana Monroe, and UMass are all still bringing up the rear.
In this article, 11 teams who are within a game of .500 or better are highlighted because a combination of concerning trends and future schedule portend a potential finish which is worse than their starts.
It's quite difficult to predict what will happen with a COVID season cancelling games or significantly limiting which players are available week to week. Already, several of the teams in my piece from last week focusing on who could go on a run have lost in upset fashion.
