Rewinding Football High Live: Scores, statewide highlights from Week 6 action - AL.com

Week 6 in the 2021 high school football season in Alabama brings some interesting non-region matchups from across the state.

They include Thompson heading to play Mountain Brook, Bob Jones at Auburn, UMS-Wright at T.R. Miller, Hoover at Prattville and Central-Clay County at Pleasant Grove.

11:02 PM, BREAKING: Jackson-Olin vs. Fairfield game suspended in OT after gunfire outside the stadium. The shooting happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. at Fairfield High Preparatory School. Fairfield, which was celebrating its Homecoming festivities, was playing Birmingham’s Jackson-Olin High School. Authorities said the game was in overtime when shots were fired outside of the stadium.

11 AM, Propst battling COVID: Former Alma Bryant and Hoover coach Rush Propst told AL.com’s Mark Heim this week that he was in the hospital battling COVID and pneumonia. In a short text exchange, Propst -- also a former coach at Colquitt County (Ga.) and most recently Valdosta -- noted “it’s not good” and to “please pray.”
