Five old Notre Dame Football photos for a Friday — Texas and Oklahoma - One Foot Down
Happy Friday everyone! I have access to thousands and thousands of Notre Dame Fighting Irish photos, and will never use a small fraction of those on this site. The thing is though — I want to, and I’m going to give it a solid shot as a way to bless the beginning of the weekend throughout the offseason.
College football realignment news is on fire right now after the rumors about the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns are true — they want OUT of the Big 12 and INTO the SEC. I’ll leave it up to you about calling it TEXIT or TEXOUT.
So... let’s jump into some old photos that may be more than five.
LOOK AT THOSE PANTS
For everyone that complains about Notre Dame’s pants right now... NOT matching the helmet is a tradition.

EASY WIN
Notre Dame is 8-2 all-time against the Sooners — including this 7-0 win in Norman back in 1957.
GREATNESS
Joe Montana made a name for himself in Texas. That’s one hell of a multi-state partnership.

ANNOYING
What’s this guy up to now? He really woke up that day and chose to go to the BCS National Championship game to beg a coach to leave that team for a school that just went 7-6. His backup choice, of course, was on the other sideline. That’s pretty embarrassing.
ANUARY 08: A fan holds up a sign in reference to an ongoing rumor that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been interested in hiring Urban Meyer, head coach of the Florida Gators, during the FedEx BCS National Championship game against the Oklahoma Sooners at Dolphin Stadium on January 8, 2009 in Miami, Florida.Photo by Marc Serota/Getty Images
RON POWLUS OWNED TEXAS
Here’s a shot of our hero in Austin — probably about to throw a Horns down.
BEFORE THEY WENT SOUTH THEY WERE IN THE BEND
Love seeing those SWC patches on Texas. Everything they touch turns to shit.
YOU CAN’T DO IT BUD
Just another Oklahoma loss to the Irish. This one is from a 19-6 Irish victory in South Bend.
