MUNCIE, Ind. — Whether you thought it would happen or not, it's happening. The Indiana high school football season is here.
OK, not yet. One area coach said: "I've said all along, I never thought we'd play. And I'm still not saying we're going to play until 7 o'clock Friday night."
That's been the type of offseason it's been and — with three area teams already having their Week 1 games canceled — the type of season it'll be. But there's cautious optimism among players, coaches, parents, administrators and media members that this season can continue (mostly) as scheduled.
