Let’s all hope the 2020 college football season, the most unusual in the sport’s history, is officially in the rear-view mirror. The COVID-19 pandemic led to cancellations, postponements, unprecedented scheduling issues and plenty of hardships for the student-athletes and coaches involved.
Because most conferences limited the number of non-league games a season ago, the fans were robbed of some great matchups that had been in the works for years. With the nation’s ambitious rollout of vaccinations continuing throughout the country, optimism abounds for a more normal college football season in 2021.
With that in mind, there are ton of terrific football games to look forward to once the seasons beginning transforming from summer to fall.
There will always be the intense in-conference rivalries like Ohio State-Michigan, Auburn-Alabama, Texas-Oklahoma, but what makes college football even more special are bragging rights held by fans of all conferences. That’s why having a full slate of non-conference games this season will be such a welcome sight.
