Football High Live: Updates, scores, highlights from statewide Week 7 prep games - AL.com

A (nearly) full-slate of games tonight for Week 7 of the high school football season.

Maybe the biggest game comes in the Birmingham area where Class 7A No. 2 Hoover travels to No. 4 Hewitt-Trussville. Other big games include Spanish Fort at Saraland and Faith Academy at UMS-Wright in Coastal Alabama and Hartselle at Athens in North Alabama.

9:24 PM, Not done yet: After a 78-yard kickoff return by Jarel Williams, Saraland’s Karson Green scores the TD on a fourth-down. Spartans cut the Spanish Fort lead to 24-21 with a 1:33 left. They’ll have to go onsides here.

9:23 PM, No. 1 goes down in 3A: Ohatchee tops Piedmont

9:21 PM, Back and forth: Hoover and Hewitt-Trussville continue to battle. Bucs cut the Hewitt lead to 28-23 with 2:29 still left in the third quarter.

9:18 PM, Faith wins in OT: Rams beat UMS-Wright 28-21 in overtime. Big win for Faith, which beats UMS for the first time and now has the edge for the second seed in Class 5A, Region 1.

4 PM, Friday cancellations: At least three statewide teams announced cancellations today due to COVID-19. Fairfield canceled tonight’s game against Class 5A No. 1 Pleasant Grove and next week’s game against Wenonah. Jackson-Olin also canceled tonight’s game against Clay-Chalkville, and Chilton County canceled its game with Helena. Randolph canceled against Madison Academy on Thursday night less than an hour before kickoff.

12 PM, Narrowing his choices: Dothan 4-star RB Jaylin White narrowed his college choices to three today. White’s top three are Florida, Florida State and Purdue. He said he plans to commit next Saturday.
