FSU football will face a tough mental test Saturday afternoon when they do battle against Boston College.
The Noles come into the game off a huge win over rival Miami last week, where they played a highly emotional game and won on the final possession. The good news is the Noles came out of that physical game relatively healthy.
Boston College ranks No. 76 overall, according to advanced metrics at BCF Toys, 31 spots behind FSU football. The Eagles have played with their starting quarterback for several games(similar to FSU), but he had played in the last two games. He improves their offensive considerably, but their defense is the weak link up front against the run.
Their offense consists of a lot of vertical passing to receiver Zay Jones and tight end Trae Berry.
Their running back, Pat Garwo, is your typical Boston College running back who’s physical but not explosive.
Defensively, they allow 5.50 yards per play, but they have not played any great offenses. The best offense they have faced thus far is Louisville. As I wrote earlier this week, they have trouble stopping the run and don’t have a defense that creates havoc.
I expect the FSU offense to put up points in this one, and the defense will need to have a game plan similar to what they had against NC State and Miami. Let’s get into my three keys to victory for the Noles against the Eagles to inch closer to a bowl bid.
