3 with Alabama football roots make NFL All-Rookie team - AL.com

Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown, Miami Dolphins nose tackle Raekwon Davis and Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. are members of the Professional Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie team for the 2020 NFL season.

Brown joined the Panthers from Auburn as the seventh player picked in the 2020 NFL Draft while Alabama teammates Wills and Davis were the 10th and 56th, respectively, players selected.

Brown started all but one of Carolina’s games and played 742 defensive snaps (70 percent of the Panthers’ total). He had 34 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, 12 quarterback hits and four pass breakups.

Davis started 12 times in his 16 games and played 538 defensive snaps (52 percent of the Dolphins’ total). He had 40 tackles, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit in 2020.

Wills started all 15 games that he played in the regular season plus Cleveland’s two postseason games at left tackle. During the regular season, he played 958 offensive snaps (90 percent of the Browns’ total).

The PFWA selected Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert as its NFL Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year. Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young won the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award for the 2020 season.
