Wyoming gets the boot

Things getting clearer?

We told you Wyoming. With the Cowboys losing to San Jose State this past week they are out of our bowl projections with its 4-4 record which includes losing four consecutive games.

The Cowboys are not completely out of it as they need just two wins to become bowl eligible, and ESPN’s Football Power Index has them close. Wyoming is favored in just one of its final four games. One of those is home vs. Hawaii and the next closest is a home game vs. Colorado State in which they are given a 46.4% chance to top their rival.

In their place, this week are the very Spartans that topped Wyoming, and San Jose State is currently 5-4 and their remaining schedule is not easy. Their best chance at a sixth win is hosting Utah State on Nov. 13, and their other two games are at Nevada and hosting Fresno State. San Jose State would have a much better chance if quarterback Nick Starkel returns to the lineup.

At the other end of the spectrum is Fresno State who now sits a top the West Division after victories against Nevada and San Diego State. So, they are slotted for the LA Jimmy Kimmel Bowl game.
